Rambler Ann Arbor offers five 4-bedroom floorplans, but they fall into two distinct groups. The Moxy and The Hoxton are designed for groups comfortable sharing bathrooms in exchange for a more efficient layout, while The Perry, The Pearl and The Proper give every roommate their own private bathroom.

Located just an 8-minute walk from the University of Michigan’s main campus and The Diag, all five floorplans offer private bedrooms and spacious shared living areas. The biggest differences come down to bathroom privacy, square footage and a handful of unique layout features that may make one floorplan a better fit for your group than another.

This guide breaks down The Moxy, The Hoxton, The Perry, The Pearl and The Proper side by side so you can decide which 4-bedroom apartment at Rambler Ann Arbor is right for you and your roommates.

Located on Levels: 2-12, 14-16

The Moxy is one of two 4×2 floorplans at Rambler Ann Arbor, meaning four bedrooms share two bathrooms. If your group is comfortable with that setup, The Moxy is one of the most efficiently laid-out options in the building.

The layout positions all four bedrooms alongside the living area, keeping the shared space at the center of the apartment where everyone naturally gravitates. Both bathrooms feature double vanities, which goes a long way toward making a two-bathroom setup work smoothly for four people.

The two Moxy variants are nearly identical in features. However, the primary difference between the 4-1 and 4-8 is square footage. The 4-1 comes in at 1,282 square feet while 4-8 is 1,261, however, both offer the same west-facing views and core amenities.

The Moxy works best for groups who are already comfortable sharing bathrooms and want a well-organized layout that keeps everyone connected without feeling cramped.

The Hoxton

Located on Levels: 2-12

The Hoxton is the second 4×2 option at Rambler Ann Arbor, and at 1,306 square feet, it’s the largest of the two-bathroom layouts. The extra square footage compared to The Moxy gives the shared spaces a bit more breathing room, which can make a real difference when four people are coexisting day to day.

Like The Moxy, The Hoxton features double vanities in both bathrooms, a practical upgrade that helps four roommates share two bathrooms without the usual friction. The layout runs Bedrooms A and B together on one side and C and D on the other, with the living area positioned between them, giving the apartment a natural split that works well for groups where two sets of roommates want a little separation.

One thing to note is that The Hoxton has pillars in Bedrooms B and C. Depending on how you furnish those rooms, it’s worth factoring that into your layout planning before move-in.

The Hoxton is a strong pick for groups who want the most square footage in a two-bathroom layout and don’t mind working around a couple of architectural details.

Located on Levels: 13 only

The Perry is the largest and most exclusive 4-bedroom floorplan at Rambler Ann Arbor, available on one floor only, which makes it a genuinely one-of-a-kind layout in the building.

At 1,553 square feet, The Perry gives four roommates significantly more space than any other 4-bedroom option, and every bedroom has its own private bathroom. The layout positions the living area alongside all four bedrooms, keeping the flow open while still giving each person a fully private retreat at the end of the day.

Bedroom B features corner windows, which brings in natural light from two directions and gives that room a noticeably different feel from the others. There is also a pillar in Bedroom B to account for when furnishing. Bedroom 4 in the layout is designated as Bed A, the largest room, so keep that in mind when your group is sorting out room assignments.

The Perry is the right choice if your group wants the most space, full bathroom privacy and a layout that’s as close to four private suites as a shared apartment gets.

Located on Levels: 2–12, 14–16

The Pearl is one of the most widely available 4×4 floorplans at Rambler Ann Arbor, and it’s designed to give four roommates private bathroom access without compromising on shared living space.

The layout runs all four bedrooms alongside the living area, with a coat closet and additional shelving in the laundry area making storage more manageable throughout the year. Every bedroom has its own attached bathroom with both bathtub and stand-up shower options, so there’s no tradeoff between roommates when it comes to how they use their space.

The two Pearl variants share the same core layout and amenities, with a couple of notable distinctions. The 4-3 has a stacked washer/dryer while 4-7A features a side-by-side setup. The 4-7A is also located on Level 2 only, includes coat closets and may feature a Juliet balcony, making it a genuinely unique unit within the Pearl lineup. The 4-3 and 4-7A units can also be combined, which is worth knowing if your group is looking at larger configurations down the line.

An accessible version of The Pearl is available on Level 2, offering a more open layout with additional space to move comfortably throughout the apartment. If accessibility is a priority for your group, ask the leasing team about availability.

The Pearl is a great fit for groups who want full bathroom privacy, solid storage options and a west-facing layout with consistent availability across multiple floors.
